Circular sector-shaped baffles are assembled into a pseudo-helical structure in the shell side of helical baffle heat exchanger. Each baffle occupies one quadrant of the shell cross-section and angled to the axis of the heat exchanger. A helical flow is formed by the helical baffle system. Enhanced tubes are used for heat transfer augmentation both in shell side and tube side, and the pressure drop of shell side is very low.
