Kern / Dopag Group has developed two new product lines, ceradis and ceramix. These new products are the result of consistent research, development and construction with the goal of fi nding a visionary concept, able to set new standards for the future in metering technology. The rotational and translational movement of either a steel or ceramic piston is achieved by means of a specially developed electromechanical drive concept. The speciality of ceradis and ceramix is that no valve technology is used. Depending on the material used for the piston neither are seals used, resulting in little maintenance and reduced service intervals. Both product lines feature a snuff back effect to avoid material dripping following the conclusion of the metering process. Kern metering computer By using the metering computer all applications that can be achieved with ceradis or ceramix can be parameterised and different metering processes can be memorised. The metering computer can either be directly integrated or wired to an external remote housing. The metering computer can also handle applications where a speed proportional material supply is required, for example in combination with a robot. The material in the metering chamber can be processed by either shot dispensing or continuous fl ow. ceramix ceramix is used to handle multi component materials. Due to its compatibility and modularity, two or more ceradis single component piston metering systems can be connected by simply using a mixing block onto the outlet of which a plastic mixer is mounted.
